 afinmore labradors

Picture
The Afinmore labradors live in a quiet hamlet near Lockerbie, South West Scotland.  We are on top of a hill, making it a very rural, if somewhat breezy, place to live.  We are surrounded by moorland and forests, which is ideal for walking and cycling with the dogs.

We are to be found at shows most weekends, much to the delight of the dogs attending and occasionally the dismay of the kids.  We also help out on a couple of local shoots during the winter.

My eldest daughter Merlin is a successful Junior Handler and likes to go beating on shoots when she can.  In the last couple of years she has qualified for the Scottish Junior Handler of the Year final two years running, for the JHA semi-finals at Richmond (after two years of not making it we might actually get there in 2012!), and for the YKC handling at Crufts 2012 and 2013.

I am a Kennel Club Assured Breeder, having joined the scheme just after its inception.  I am also a member of the Labrador Club of Scotland, Northumberland & Durham Labrador Club and the Labrador Retriever Club.  I am the chairperson for one of our local canine societies, on the committee of N&D Labrador Club and Labrador Club of Scotland and I am on the C list for judging.

All our dogs are health tested before breeding from them, and I take account of health, type and temperament when breeding.  As nearly all our puppies go as family pets, our aim is to try to ensure that when they do go to their new families they go as happy, healthy, well socialised puppies.

We are always happy to welcome visitors - just give us a call.
